ON THE LENGTH-BIASED OLA DISTRIBUTION: PROPERTIES AND ITS APPLICATION TO CANCER DATA

Abstract

This paper is concerned with the development of a novel length-biased distribution called the Length-Biased Ola Distribution (LBOD). The LBOD is a new modification of the Ola distribution. Various statistical properties of the LBOD, such as the moment generating function, moments, distribution of order statistics, reliability analysis, and maximum likelihood estimation, are presented. In addition, Fisher’s information, entropies, and stochastic ordering are derived. The Bonferroni and Lorenz curves are also discussed. The effectiveness of the new distribution is demonstrated through an analysis of cancer data. In this application, the new distribution provides a better fit than the other distributions considered in the study.
